Recent current events has cause many to take a second look at why we are Adventists. The Pope has recently changed some of the laws in the Catholic Church to attract disaffected Christians to come over to Rome. The Pope has come out and said that the Catholic Church is the answer to the worlds problems. Many Protestant Churches have come on board with the Pope in areas of agreement to be united in one front as Christians. Many groups are lining up to push for a Sunday law so that the United States can regain favor with God. The Spirit of Prophesy says that three events will trigger the push for this law, Moral, Economic, and Natural Disasters. At this point in time we have these three looking at us in the face. Crime is rampant, murder-suicides are a daily news item, drug use is up, homosexuality is accepted as a common place human behavior, cheating and lying in school exams is the norm, child abuse is a major problem etc. The country is currently going through a money crisis with the stock market not doing as well as in the past, people loosing their homes is common place, unemployment in some areas is very high, and natural disasters of fires, earthquakes, and floods are all over the Earth right now. The world is ripe for Satan to do his work. But God in his mercy is still holding back for now. I think He is because we as a church are not ready to face the trials ahead.
I believe that God is working on the hearts of  Church Members to stir an interest in what is going on around us. But many are not interested as they lack an understanding of both the Bible and The Spirit of Prophecy. This is unfortunate as both of these hold the key to the future and of our personal salvation. If we as a church get back to basics on this a great work could  be done. It is not only up to the minister or the church elders to spread the Good News, but all us. I heard recently of a man in California that rented a store front in his local town and presented six Daniel and Revelation seminars and 160 people were baptized. Wow! Just simple things can add up to big events.

The point is this, Jesus is coming back soon. We must prepare our hearts now and study the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy while we can. If we don't, we as a people will not be prepared for the Final Events. Don't put your commitment to the Lord off any longer. Prayerfully come to the Lord and He will lead.
